Early Years

Mrs M Walker- Early Years Leader

We believe that Early Years education should be exciting, stimulating, well-organised and fun. We have a vibrant setting where the classrooms are bright and engaging, enabling the children to become active and enthusiastic learners. At St James Acadmey, we strive to ensure that every child receives the very best possible start to their education that they deserve as to us ‘Every child matters’. The children are at the centre of everything we do here at St James.

‘’The first five years have so much to do with how the next 80 turn out.’’

Bill Gates Sr, Co-Chair of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation

At St James Academy, the children are taught topics through carefully selected texts which are exciting and inspire the children to learn. Our curriculum is play-based with a balance of adult-led and child-initiated activities in order for children to thrive.

We provide the children with activities that are…

  • Fun
  • Challenging
  • Messy
  • Progressive

We are very proud that our Early Years at St James has…

  • Language rich environments - both indoors and outdoors
  • Caring and nurturing practitioners
  • Dedicated practitioners who have a passion for teaching
  • A large outdoor area, trim trail, field and playground
  • Qualified staff with Early Years experience
